2023 Policy Committees Start in July

Metro Cities 2023 policy committee meetings will begin the week of July 24th. Committees review and recommend legislative policies for Metro Cities. If you have not yet signed up and would like to participate, information and schedules are on Metro Cities’ website. Participation is open to member city officials and staff.

Committees will be chaired this year by Heather Butkowski-City Administrator, Lauderdale (Housing and Economic Development), Michael Thompson-Public Works Director, Plymouth (Transportation and General Government), Gary Hansen-Councilmember, Eagan (Metropolitan Agencies) and Dana Hardie-City Manager, Victoria (Municipal Revenues).

Please be sure to sign up for the committee(s) in which you would like to participate. We look forward to seeing you!

 

Metro Cities Board of Directors

Congratulations to Jay Stroebel, Brooklyn Park, City Manager as he begins his term as Metro Cities’ President, and to Daniel Buchholtz, Spring Lake Park, City Administrator, as he begins his term as Vice President. Metro Cities would also like to welcome Dan Gustafson, Councilmember-City of Burnsville, Chris Heineman, City Administrator-City of Little Canada, Justin Olsen, Councilmember-City of Cottage Grove, Eric Petersen, IGR Director-City of Saint Paul, and Katie Topinka, IGR Director-City of Minneapolis to the Board of Directors.

Thank you to Myron Bailey, Mayor, Cottage Grove as he completes his term on the Board. Mayor Bailey served as President of the Board from 2020-21 and Past President from 2021-23. We would also like to thank Jan Jenson, Councilmember, St. Anthony Village, as he completes his term on the Board of Directors. Thank you for your service and commitment to Metro Cities!
