Committee Approves Stormwater Reuse Grant Program
The Metropolitan Council’s Environment Committee voted to approve the 2026-2028 Stormwater Reuse Grant Program at their meeting on August 25. The goal of the program is to support the construction of stormwater reuse systems to reduce the burden on source waters within the seven-county metropolitan area. This program is funded with $1 million from the Clean Water Fund. Grants will be awarded to eligible entities to implement stormwater reuse projects in amounts ranging from $100,000 to $250,000 (for work completed through June 30, 2030). Eligible recipients include cities, counties, townships, watershed management organizations, and soil and water conservation districts. The Metropolitan Council will provide up to 75% of the project cost and grantees must provide the remaining 25%. State Seeking Comments on Massage Therapy Rules
The Minnesota Dept. of Health (MDH) is seeking comments on its possible rules necessary to implement legislation from the 2026 session establishing a statewide regulatory framework for massage therapy and Asian bodywork. Local government input is specifically being asked for to answer the following questions:
- Whether the cost of complying with the rule in the first year after the rule takes effect will exceed $25,000 for one small city or business.
- Whether local governments might be required to adopt or amend an ordinance or other regulation to implement these rules.
- How standards of practice and a professional code of ethics interact with municipal-level licensing of massage therapy establishments in your jurisdiction, and any suggestions or comments you have.

Congratulations to Mike Lund, Ania McDonnell and Will Sarkinen, otherwise known as the Rotunda Racers, who took second place in the international distance coed relay race of the Maple Grove Triathlon last Saturday!
