Metro Cities Policy Committees Begin Week of July 18th

Metro Cities’ policy committees will begin work the week of July 18th. If you have not registered and would like to participate, click HERE for a list of committees and a sign-up sheet. Committee participation is open to all member city elected officials and staff. Policy committees will review and recommend Metro Cities’ legislative policies for the coming year. If you have registered to participate, you will receive committee agendas and packets next week.

New House Publication on Open Meeting Law

The MN House Research Department recently released an updated brief on the open meeting law. The document discusses groups and types of meetings covered by the law and reviews both requirements and exceptions, as well as penalties for violations. Metro Cities Breakfast at LMC Conference

Thank you to the League of Minnesota Cities for the opportunity to host a breakfast for metro city officials at the League’s recent annual conference in Duluth, and to the many city officials who attended. A special thanks to Metro Cities’ President Matt Stemwedel for providing introductory remarks at the breakfast. Metro Cities was pleased to see former Metro Cities’ Presidents Mike Maguire, Brad Wiersum and Gary Hansen, and several current and former Board members, at the breakfast.
